DISCOVER THE Benefits OF A UNION WORKFORCE

A KNOWLEDGEABLE AND WELL-TRAINED team

The electrical workers of the IBEW have the experience, training, and education to take on and finish any project – no matter the size or scope of work.

ACCESS INDUSTRY LEADING EDUCATION

The Redwood Empire Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (REJATC) provides more than just a program for newcomers to our industry. Journeyman upgrade and continuing education classes ensure that your employees can continue to learn and grow as our industry evolves.

The REJATC operates several California state-registered Apprenticeship Programs to ensure the ongoing availability of trained, qualified workers. The Apprenticeship Program is five years for commercial electricians, three years for residential electricians, and three years for sound and communication installers.

A SAFE WORKFORCE

Members of IBEW Local 551 are taught to maintain their safety and the safety of those around them from Day One. Apprentices complete OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid in their very first year of their training. A safe workforce helps to prevent workplace injuries, reportable incidents, and the unplanned work stoppages associated with them. Our communal participation in a safety conscious culture maintains not only a healthy work force and its on-site productivity, but also lowers the Workers’ Compensation costs of our signatory employers.

HIRE ELECTRICIANS Tomorrow AT NO COST

Your partnership with the IBEW grants you access to our zero-cost employee referral service. This saves affiliated contractors from wasting time and money on job advertising, applicant screening, and in some cases subscription and membership fees. We can refer to you State Certified Journeymen, Registered Apprentices, Electrical Trainees, Sound and Communications Installers, and Residential Wiremen.

IBEW Local 551 requires signatory contractors to make a manpower request by 4:00 p.m. so that we can dispatch an electrical worker to report to the jobsite the next day.

REQUEST a FOREMAN OR Those with SPECIAL SKILLs

Hand pick your next foreman from our list of qualified electricians or put in a “specialty call” to request an electrical worker with a specific certification.

A WORKFORCE TO MEET YOUR NEEDS

If your projects contain requirements for Apprenticeship Utilization, Local Hire, or Skilled and Trained Workforce, we can refer to you electrical workers that will fulfill those requirements while working effectively and efficiently. Signatory contractors also have access to a workforce to meet the manpower needs of any size project. Man-up or man-down slowly or overnight, all according to the specific needs of your jobs and schedules.

Local workers across the nation

You never know where your next project will take you, but the IBEW will be there for you no matter where that is. Whatever County or State you find yourself in, whether you need an entire crew from the ground up, or just a few helpful hands to support your core team, there is an IBEW Local there that will be happy and able to get you the people you need, when and where you need them.
