Not all education and training programs pay you to learn. However, IBEW-NECA programs not only compensate you while you are learning, they guarantee promotion to deserving apprentices. As you develop more complex job skills and improve your knowledge, you receive your just reward.

In signing an apprenticeship agreement, you commit to participate in classroom related training as well as on-the-job training. You are expected to be at your assigned job, on time, everyday--alert, ready and willing to learn as you work. You LEARN BY DOING. Your on-the-job training is supervised by a qualified Journeyman craftsman.

Qualified competent Journeymen stand ready to teach deserving apprentices. We do not limit our training to teaching individuals to simply perform manual labor (job tasks). We train men and women to craftsmanship status. The IBEW-NECA apprenticeship programs pride themselves in their product--an individual with unmatched job Skill, Knowledge and Ability. We train individuals to have PRIDE, DIGNITY and SELF-RESPECT. They learn to care for their co-workers.

IBEW construction members are not just common workers. They are America's electrical constructors and are at the heart of the American Dream.

We are seeking men and women of all races who demonstrate the best CHARACTERISTICS, APTITUDE, MOTIVATION and PERSONALITY traits conducive to success in our trade. The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or age. All qualified candidates are interviewed by employers and union representatives in an effort to select the best candidates.Over 85 percent of our apprentices complete the program and have meaningful careers as highly paid Journeymen electrical workers. This success rate is virtually unmatched in the electrical industry and testifies to our personal commitment to you.

IBEW-NECA programs graduate thousands of proud apprentices to Journeyman status every year. Why not consider becoming a member of our "Winning Team."

Journeyman, Craftsman and Wireman are terms used to identify levels of competency, not sex. Females completing apprenticeship are proud of their Journeyman status in the electrical industry.
